This software has a number of positive features. It features real-time spyware blocking and real-time spyware protection. Spyware Doctor also has the capability to rollback and to restore. When it does a scan, it will also provide the computer’s user a description of each piece of spyware it finds. The only problem here is that you have to resize your columns to read the descriptions.

This software protects your computer against all of the following: phishing attacks, hijacks of your browser, spybots, spyware cookies, Trojan horses, adbots, keyloggers, spyware and adware. It boasts that it is easy to install and that because it utilizes multiple scanners, it can scan your computer more quickly than other anti-spyware programs. Another good feature is that, no matter what version of Spyware Doctor you download, you can update it through the process of Smart Update. It also has an OnGuard feature that will give your system real time protection. The current version is 5.5 and it is the fastest version to be released.
The Bad
It has a tendency to use a lot of your computer’s resources and will slow down your computer while it is running. It also makes your computer slower on start-up. One person reported having their computer take thirty seconds longer to boot up after the program was installed. It also tends to try to install itself in sixteen languages, which takes up more room than necessary.
The Verdict
This product has a lot to offer, but your computer will suffer from it. It uses up most of your computer’s resources so you won’t be able to do much surfing while the program is running! What is the point of having real-time protection when you can’t do anything with it? While it does protect your system, it is not worth the download because, really, who wants to slow their computer down? There are other, faster, less resource hogging anti-spyware programs that are readily available.
