About Spyware Nuker
Spyware Nuker is anti-spyware software that is designed to find and remove spyware and adware on your computer’s system. It is also used to prevent the installation of unwanted software and it does this by using a kernel-level driver. Spyware Nuker works by scanning through your whole computer to find spyware and adware files that have been installed and then gives you the option of deleting the files that look harmful. This program also gives you the option to restore the files you’ve deleted and has support for both Netscape and Firefox. The program is free to try and is currently on version 4.5.39.1560. It works with Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows 2000, Windows XP and the Windows 2003 Server. It is not yet configured to work with Vista.
The Pros
The interface is easy to use. It looks clean and makes use of five tabs. It is very user-friendly and looks much like most of the other anti-spyware programs available. The user has the option of scanning the entire computer or choosing which files he thinks might be the most infected. It also generates a post-scan report that explains what each spyware file is and where it came from. Spyware Nuker also has fantastic customer support.
The Cons
We couldn’t find any other reviews of this product! This does not necessarily mean that there isn’t anything bad to say about the software, but could point to there being very few downloads. We are wary of downloading anything that we can’t find reviewed anywhere. The writing we did find about Spyware Nuker all seemed to echo the words on the official Spyware Nuker site. This makes us extra wary of downloading the software because repeated official material means that nobody else wanted to download it either.
The Verdict
You are taking your computer into your own hands when you download this product. We cannot recommend the product because we couldn’t find very much information about it at all. Even the official site does not say much about how the product works or what to expect when you download the software. It isn’t a good idea to download anything if you can’t find a proven track record for it anywhere. Spyware Nuker was easy to use, yet there is not much background on how effective it is in the long run, despite the fact it picked up a lot of the spyware on our test machine.
